What do you get when you combine rigid religious messaging, a mother who viewed sex as a duty, and a slough of medical challenges brought on by intercourse?
This is where Claire found herself only a few weeks into marriage. While her husband remained kind and supportive, Claire struggled through massive feelings of guilt, obligation, and grief as she wanted so badly to enjoy that which she was told so many times was supposed to be "amazing, wonderful, and SO worth waiting for!"
Determined, Claire spent years visiting doctors and experimenting with all sorts of strange aids (boric acid, anyone?) to make sex more of a mutual experience. Yet the more she tried, the more hopeless she felt, and the more her desire for sex melted away. After all but giving up completely, she was finally told the words she had needed to hear for 18 years...
Claire shares with us the deep pain she experienced, both physically and emotionally, as well as the joy of seeing sex in a whole new way. Her experience brings hope to those experiencing pain, and offers a new way of thought to help bring couples closer together than ever before.
