Therapist, author, teacher and advocate for healthy humans everywhere Dr. Christy Bauman joins us to share her journey, as well as her experience working with women and couples embodying their own stories.
Christy fought tooth and nail for her voice to be heard in a man’s world - she navigated seminary and singleness by shutting down her body’s song and letting her head call the shots. While this may have gotten her through her PhD, it didn’t serve her well when she got married and had to suddenly open up a whole new part of her human experience.
Through deep loss, grief and a lot of isolation, Christy discovered how to finally find her voice and let the truth bubble up and out of her body.
She now coaches women and couples to do the same, because only when we speak the truth with our mouths can we live in true intimacy with our bodies.
Content warning: this episode includes sexual content, and discusses child loss and sexual coercion/rape.
