S2:E4 | From Coerced to Cherished: Nat

After forty years of shutting out her feelings, pleasing everyone but herself and stuffing down her lived experience, Nat asked her husband to stay with his sister for a few days and found herself uploading a vulnerable video to TikTok.

Two weeks later, that video had half a million views. Her accidental stumbling into a social media firestorm led her to uncovering the truth - she had been sexually coerced since day one of her marriage. After admitting to herself that she had married someone she didn't truly love due to influence from toxic religious messaging, Nat began to put words to the feelings she had for two decades and made it her mission to help other women uncover the truth in their own relationships.

Nat's religious and relational untangling reminds us that it's essential to listen to our feelings and set boundaries, even if that means walking away from almost everything. Through loving and listening to herself, she finally discovered how it feels to be truly cherished.

Content Warning: This episode discusses sexual coercion and the Christian church.
